You must have your student or staff card with you to access spaces out of hours. Security door locks will be active.

Opening times above show the extent of self-service hours in a day. If a space has been centrally timetabled it will not be available on this system during those hours.

As you complete inductions for the areas or equipment you will be using, technical staff or tutors will update your booking permissions.

Fines

These can be paid online at the University of Salford eShop, or with contactless at the Equipment Store.

 

Public Liability & Insurance

When completing approved coursework you are covered by the University's insurance should somebody be harmed. Locations may require you to show your risk assessments and our public liability insurance certificate.

This does not insure equipment.
We recommend that you take out your own insurance.

 

Risk Assessments

Many projects will require you to complete risk assessments for each task or location.

You should read and reference the relevant School Risk Assessments when making your own, which you submit to your module leader for approval.

Numerous common hazards already have safe methods of working devised, so following these will help keep people safe and save you some time.
